Making Movies production “Little Wing” (“Tyttö nimeltä Varpu”) is selected as Finland’s nominee for the Nordic Council Film Prize 2017. 12-year-old Varpu, is rapidly approaching adulthood while her mother Siru refuses to grow up.
The jury says twelve-year-old Linnea Skog gives a nuanced performance in the lead role, while Paula Vesala radiates female strength in the role of her mother. The writer and director of “Little Wing” is Academy Award nominated Selma Vilhunen. The film is produced by Kai Nordberg and Kaarle Aho.
The award ceremony will be held 1st of November 2017 in Helsinki.
